Healthy fat for you



FAT – the 3rd and final macronutrient to know.  Fats are important for 3 main reasons: they are the catalyst for making eicosanoids (more on that tomorrow); they make food taste better; and they cause the body to release a hormone called cholecystokinin that tells the brain that your body is satisfied and to stop eating.  Best fats to consume are walnuts, almonds, olive oil, olives, avocado and natural peanut butter and foods with Omega-3 fats such as salmon, tuna, flaxseed and canola oil.
