"I am perfect!" she said when I asked the children at VBS today if they knew anyone who was perfect. "I have a perfect dress and beautiful shoes, so I am perfect!" How adorable and innocent she is, I thought. Obviously, I went on to say that no one was perfect, except God. I thought to myself how unfortunate that her world would soon change and that she would begin to question her perfectness because the world would tell her otherwise, as in, "you are too this," or "you are too that." It is quite a transformation to lose one's innocence, all to later struggle to find that happiness and joy that we used to have about ourselves when we were young. As for today and always, little girl, you ARE perfect in God's eyes in every single way!
